The Rescue Division is comprised of two Heavy Rescue Trucks that are positioned on each side of the county (east & west) at Station 1 in Burgaw & Station 2 in Hampstead. The Pender EMS & Rescue, Inc. rescue efforts in the county are also backed by Sloop Point Fire Department and Hampstead Fire Department providing rescue support along with First Responders to 911 calls within their Fire District.

Both of the Heavy Rescue trucks are staffed with 1 Rescue Tech on  each truck. Each one of our Rescue Tech's also holds a North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician Certification at the level of EMT - Basic or EMT - Intermediate. Which allows them to provide Medical care to the citizens of Pender County in the event that there is a high call volume, or a distant delay for the responding Paramedic Ambulance en route to the call.

Our rescue techs provide "rescue" in the following aspects: Vehicle, Confine Space, High Angle, Land Search, Ropes, & Trench. Our Rescue Techs also provide support to EMS by setting up landing zones for EMS that have called in a helicopter for transport in the field.
